Vaudeville Smash’d – Vaudeville Smash

Saturday 26 September – The Speigel Haus Melbourne

Our Score

Big brass, bold laughs and glorious disco-funk chaos,  this is Vaudeville with the volume cranked!

Vaudeville Smash stormed Spiegel Haus last night and turned it into one deliciously wild, full-throttle carnival. Less gig, more glitter-soaked fever dream, the show cranked the band’s trademark theatricality to eleven. At the centre of the mayhem was frontman Marc Lucchesi, commanding the room in full ringmaster mode incluing a red tailcoat, swagger and enough charisma to hook the crowd before the first note hit.

The show unfolded like a perfectly curated circus spectacular. A hoop performer spun into the spotlight with hypnotic precision, every movement locking into the band’s brass fuelled pulse. Then an aerialist soared above the crowd, carving elegant shapes through the air as the music slipped into a moodier groove. Big sound, intimate spectacle and cheeky showmanship this is where Vaudeville Smash shine.

Their hit track, Zinedine, Zidane complete with the iconic soccer ball routine, sent the room into orbit. Razor sharp footwork bounced between choreography and freestyle tricks while the band leaned hard into the song’s swagger. The routine was a burst of sheer, infectious fun.

The surprises kept coming near the end when special guest soulstress Kylie Auldist stepped into the spotlight for a song. Her powerhouse vocals soared over the band’s brass fuelled groove, adding another thrilling burst of soul to the spectacle.

Through it all, the musicianship remained front and centre: tight horns, punchy percussion and a rhythm section that knew exactly how to take the room from simmer to absolute eruption. Spiegel Haus was made for this beautiful chaos – warm, intimate and ready to be pushed right to the edge.

Vaudeville Smash didn’t simply play a show, they threw a party, staged a spectacle and left the room buzzing.

Vaudeville Smash’d continues at the Spiegel Haus Melbourne – Spiegeltent until 10 October 2026
